わずか – a bit; mere; small degree; no more than

This is a nifty, useful word.  Let’s look at some groovy ways to use it:

• わずか１０分前 – just 10 minutes ago
• わずか１７歳で入隊しました – joined the military at the mere age of 17
• わずか一年で – in as little as 1 year

I could go on and on, but these examples should give you a pretty good idea of how to make use of わずか.
