相談  [そうだん] – discussion; consultation; counseling

相談 isn’t just idle chit-chat, but a conversation in which one seeks out counsel and advice.

Of particular interest to me is the kanji 談.  Note that it is made up of two parts: 言 (to say) and 火 (fire).  Having 2 fires, does that make it a… heated… discussion?  [ba-dump-CHING!]
